Michelle Marie Yeager
Costume Design & Wearable Art

My name is Michelle
I've been a maker for most of my life.
My formal background is in Fine Arts, with a concentration in clay and sculpture, but my skill set has grown far beyond that into many other areas. Since 2008, I have worked independently as a freelance Costume Designer for theater companies, dance troupes, and independent film makers in and around Philadelphia, PA.
To showcase my personal design work, I have competed internationally, and placed, in the World of Wearable Arts competition, held in Auckland, New Zealand.
I'm currently a Senior Fabricator and Team Lead at Monkey Boys Productions (Hatfield, PA). I've been employed by Monkey Boys Productions for almost a decade now and have been an integral part in helping it grow from a very small operation, with myself as the sole full-time fabricator, to the dynamic, multi-artist production team that it is today.

As a Fabricator at Monkey Boys Productions, I have been able to hone my skill set to become an experienced professional puppet builder specializing in pattern drafting 3D forms, soft goods fabrication, and puppet design engineering. As a Team Leader, I am often tasked with guiding large, multidisciplinary teams through complex, client-provided designs. For the last eight years, I have worked almost exclusively on creating puppets based on IP centric character designs, which I am unfortunately unable to share on my website.
I have an excellent track record of providing detailed, durable, quality work garnering enthusiastic client satisfaction. I love creative problem solving and bringing 2D designs, especially whimsical ones, into 3D reality.
